Providing accessible healthcare to improve equitable health and wellbeing outcomes
OVAHS incorporates cultural understanding in providing accessible healthcare to improve equitable health and well-being outcomes. We work adaptively and with transparency to determine, prioritize, and meet the health and well-being needs of Aboriginal people in our region. Health services are provided and prioritized on a basis of need and take into account physical, mental, and social health and the health of our community.
OVAHS acknowledges the traditional owners of the country on which we work and live and recognize their continuing connection to land, waters, and community. We pay our respect to them and their cultures and to elders both past and present.
We strive to provide the best holistic health outcomes for our patients. We are a team of skilled professionals who seek continuous improvement and listen to the needs of our patients. As an Aboriginal owned organisation, we communicate openly and with compassion and recognise the importance of cultural understanding in everything we do. We provide opportunities for Indigenous employees to grow within the organisation. Responding to the unique challenges of working in East Kimberley, we seek innovative solutions to challenges. We are adaptable and work together to respond to problems and ensure services are readily accessible.
