Provides early education and care services in Yeppoon for children
J.A.C’s Learning World caters for children from 15 months old up to school aged children; this consists of a Toddler group, Pre-Kindy group and Government Approved Kindergarten program.
Throughout all our age groups we operate an indoor – outdoor program where all children have the flexibility to choose areas of interest in which they participate throughout the day, as individuals and as part of a group, this underpins the basis of our routine. Our daily routines give children flexible access and opportunity where their individual needs are catered for.
We strive to ensure our environments are homely, relaxed and a safe place in which children and their families feel confident and comfortable. Educators seek to provide a physically safe and emotionally secure setting where children can explore and experiment with a variety of materials and experiences in a supportive, confidence building atmosphere that promotes physical, emotional, intellectual and social growth.
We endeavour to follow each child’s emerging interest and incorporate these into daily experiences, building on and scaffolding learning to suit individual learning abilities. Our approach to planning curriculum focuses on being responsive to children’s interests to create meaningful learning experiences. Our philosophy prioritises active participation, relationship building, flexible and adaptable methods and play-based learning.
Our curriculum is child-initiated, collaborative and responsive to each child’s needs. We uphold the dignity and rights of each child to learn and grow in an environment which offers opportunities that reflect the holistic way children learn and grow in the wider community, experiencing responsive and reciprocal relationships with people, places and things.
To support and reinforce the educational program we value input from parents and caregivers who are, after all, the first teachers of our children.
