Having served the Blackmans Bay/Kingston area since 2000
Blackmans Bay Motors started operation in 2000 at the rear of the shell service station in Blackmans Bay. Rod Glanville & Scott Turnbull are the original & still current owners of the business, having served the Blackmans Bay/Kingston area since 2000. Rod & Scott were determined from the start to develop a business that met the needs of the modern automotive industry & its customers, always looking for ways to make the business better equipped or better ways to keep their customers happy. The focus has always been on making sure the customers receive professional & courteous service.
The business grew quickly to the point that in 2005 they decided to build a state-of-the-art service centre in nearby Opal Drive. The move into this building, still the location of the business today, gave them the ability to grow and accommodate the rapidly changing technology of today’s vehicles. As the business continued to expand a large investment was made into equipping the workshop with the facilities to do very close to all work required on modern vehicles in house. These include machining flywheels for the surrounding workshops, the latest on car brake lathe, 3 of the latest scan tools, wheel alignment and tyre changing facilities and sophisticated software packages.
When the opportunity arose in 2011 to join the Bosch Car Service network, Rod & Scott saw the training and technological back up available as being too good a proposition to pass up. Now the technicians are flown to Melbourne several times a year to receive the latest training available through the Bosch Car Service network. Actively participating in the Bosch Service Excellence programme and regular conferences is enabling the business to move forward into the future with a lot of confidence.
In early 2018 Autorad Radiators was purchased and incorporated into the business giving the local area as well as their existing customers a local option for high quality radiator/heater core repairs and supply of new units.
