Launceston Colorectal Surgeon and Colonoscopist – Mr David Lloyd
Based in Launceston, offering a full range of colorectal services including colonoscopy, laparoscopic surgery, trans-anal minimally invasive surgery (TAMIS), open & perineal surgery and 3-D Endo Anal Ultrasonography.
Initially trained as a General Surgeon, David also performs gallbladder & hernia surgery.
David graduated from the University of Tasmania in 1991, then undertook his General Surgical Training in Tasmania and at the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
He obtained his Colorectal Fellowship working as a Clinical Fellow at the Singapore General Hospital, Singapore and St Marks Hospital, London, U.K (recognised worldwide as a centre of excellence in colorectal disorders), completing his Colorectal Fellowship in 2002.
On returning to Australia he became a member of the Colorectal Surgical Society of Australia & New Zealand.
Whilst currently sharing his time equally between the public and private health sectors as a Consultant Colorectal and General Surgeon for the Launceston General Hospital and Calvary St Vincent’s Hospital, David is also a Senior Lecturer for the University of Tasmania’s Medical School, an instructor for the Australian & New Zealand Surgical Skills, Education & Training (ASSET) Course and holds the position of Examiner of the Court at the Royal Australian College of Surgeons.
