Town and Country Children’s Centre is a locally owned and operated long daycare centre which was established in 1992 situated in Kooringal, Wagga Wagga NSW. We offer preschool and childcare services to children from two years of age. The centre is open from Monday to Friday 8.00am to 6.00pm and provides a long daycare service for up to 48 children with a preschool program.
The childcare centre has several spacious outdoor playgrounds. The incorporation of natural landscapes and vegetation into the play areas provides diversification for children to learn and explore. Children have a sandpit, vegetable garden, outdoor classroom and a large fixed play equipment area.
All of the animals at Town and Country are handraised and live adjacent to the playgounds. The children are encouraged to interact and assist with the care and feeding of the pig, Dottie and the goat Esme. The semi rural location allows the children access to the adjoining farm thus enabling farm walks and animal education.
There is a designated dining room for the children which also contains individual lockers. The centre has an outdoor area with tables and chairs which is also used for dining. The menu and eating experiences are varied, multicultural and encourage healthy eating principles.
The two classrooms have an open plan design with lots of natural light. One classroom is known as the Cuddlepies and the other classroom is the Snugglepots. Staff have access to an array of educational material to help with the learning process and the transition from preschool to school.
