At Carinya Gunnedah, Jesus Christ is central to the core vision of the school and our understanding of Him is embedded in our educational practices, at every level.
Children of all ages are taught that everything they learn about, is the work of the Lord Jesus Christ, as the Creator of the universe. They are also taught that every skill, every ability and every gift they have, has come to them “From Christ” and is to be used “For Him”.
Each child is treated as an individual, made in the image of God, to be loved, valued and respected as a learner. The learning and achievement of each child matters equally with the learning and achievement of others. These perspectives are described in more detail in the prospectus, by the Principal of Carinya Tamworth.
Parents really matter at Carinya Gunnedah: sharing with parents in the education of their children is seen as a privilege for all staff at Carinya and one which we take seriously. A close working relationship between parents and teachers is a strong foundation in teaching children to be resilient, responsible and self motivated in their learning.
